A half-day, fun-packed, challenging event that will give
participants the opportunity to experience the favourite
pastime of hundred thousands of Hanoians! Plus, it will give
them the chance to create their own unique interpretation of
life in Hanoi.
“Dancing With the Stars” begins at 09.30 am, with the
participants joining in a daily session of the Babilon
Gardens Dance Club at dawn in Lenin Park. Participants can
mix with the local dancers and be given some basic
instructions in a variety of dances, and be photographed as
they dance. This is an introductory activity which will be
enjoyable in itself, but it forms the prelude of what is to
follow.
At the conclusion of the class, participants will be given
sealed instructions informing them that in teams (maybe each
team of each team will comprise 4 to 6 people, or more
depending on the size of the whole group) they are to create
and present a dance item as a group ensemble, to be
performed that night as part of a gala dinner at the
Hilton. The theme is to have something to do with the
history, lifestyle or their experience of Hanoi, for example
the traffic or the practice of street selling. It can be in
any dance style, for example Latin American, waltz, cha cha,
rock in roll or any combination of dance styles.

With the help of the Teambuilding Manager, the teams each
select a theme for their dance, decide on music and costumes or
props. The dancing tutor of the Babilon Gardens Dance Club and
other dancers will be available to help coach each team should
they require assistance. In order to build the competitive
spirit between each team, the teams will be given separate space
in which to rehearse and during the course of the afternoon and
travel by cyclo to the Old Quarter to select costumes or props,
and music CDs.
At the gala dinner that night, each team will present their
dance item and be judged both by local dignitaries and the
remainders of the tour group.
